A dental extraction completely removes the tooth from the socket and bone. Extractions may be required for a wide variety of reasons, but most commonly include:

  • Decay, infection, or trauma – teeth that have become unrestorable via tooth decay, disease, or dental trauma will need to be extracted.
  • Small mouth or overcrowding – emerging teeth with a lack of room may cause shifting or cracking of other teeth.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Third molars, also called ‘Wisdom Teeth’, typically come in around the ages of 17-21.  These may be problematic if there is not enough room for them to surface, or even come in the wrong position. Wisdom teeth that do not erupt through the gum line are called ‘impacted’ and may be stuck in the jawline, or just below the gums.

Wisdom teeth can be extracted at Polaris Dentistry if they have erupted from the gum line. Unfortunately, we do not extract impacted wisdom teeth. However, we can refer you to an excellent provider for this service.

Periodontics is the branch of dentistry that treats the conditions of the tissues and supporting structures around your teeth. Such conditions may include bone loss, gum recession, and gum disease.

Dental Implants

If you need dental implants, we are here for you with affordable, top-quality solutions. We’ll start with an initial consultation, perform a detailed exam, and discuss the best options for you. Learn more about getting dental implants at Polaris Dentistry.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is an oral surgery treatment in which excess gum tissue, and possibly some bone, around the upper teeth are removed, making them look longer. Crown lengthening is also used when support is needed for installation of a crown or cap (these are necessary for damaged or cracked teeth).
